Chief justice calls for int'l cooperation in Internet judiciary

China's chief justice Zhou Qiang called for international cooperation in the Internet judiciary to further rule of law in cyberspace when addressing a global event held Thursday in Wuzhen, eastern China's Zhejiang Province.
The judiciaries of countries across the world should strengthen exchanges and mutual learning to promote procedure- and law-based governance of cyberspace, Zhou Qiang, president of the Supreme People's Court of China, said at the World Forum on Rule of Law on Internet.
To improve the capacity of exercising judicial power and promote the rule of law in cyberspace, Zhou suggested joint efforts in exploring new rules for legal procedures and new mechanisms for hearing and handling cases.
The one-day event was hosted by the Supreme People's Court of China.
