The official website of the Luohu district government (www.szlh.gov.cn) ranked first among the websites of 452 district and county governments in a government website performance evaluation organized by the Chinese Software Testing Center (CSTC). This is the fourth time in a row the Luohu government website has topped the ranking list, according to a news release of the 18th performance evaluation of government websites hosted by the CSTC in Beijing on Dec. 6.

The main areas assessed include information publication, interpretation and response, operation and services, interaction and exchanges, management and maintenance, function and promotion, and good case studies.

The Luohu government has placed great importance to the building of e-government over recent years and has worked hard to improve the efficiency, services and management of its website. It has also worked to enhance other areas related to e-governance to ensure that the public receives information from the government in a timely way and receives quick responses to their appeals and queries.

In the pastfour years, the Luohu government has taken the initiative to disseminate more than 114,000 pieces of information through its website, and the public's appeals and queries have all been responded to promptly.

Some of the practices that Luohu has piloted - tapping into the potential of big data and information technology for good governance - have been promoted nationwide as they have proven effective in bridging the information gap between the government and society.
