The conference is being organized by the China Internet Information Center and the administrative committee of Horinger New District in Hohhot. At a press conference in Beijing on Monday, the organizers announced the event will include the opening and closing ceremonies, a high-level forum, and an exhibition themed on the Belt and Road Initiative.

The conference will also honor innovative organizations and individuals in countries and regions along the Belt and Road through the ChiLeChuan Culture Creativity Award, with the top prize money up to 500,000 yuan (US$71,400). The application started Monday and will last until May 15, 2020.

Li Fugen, deputy director of China Internet Information Center, said the conference aims to develop a sound ecosystem for cultural and creative development in Horinger and promote high quality growth in Horinger New District and even the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Luo Qing, vice mayor of Hohhot and director of the administrative committee of Horinger New District, said the district will seize the opportunity to build the culture and creativity industry as a new growth point in the region.

Horinger New District was established in 2017 with a planned construction area of 496 square kilometers. Its development has since focused on key industries including green agriculture, energy, big data, and cloud computing.
