This year's Zhongguancun Forum (ZGC Forum) will convene in Beijing on Sept.17, according to an announcement by the forum's organizing committee on Wednesday. In addition to the on-site event, the forum will also be livestreamed for public viewing.

The scheduled four-day event, including conferences, exhibitions, negotiations on various deals, and the presentation of outcomes, will highlight people's wellbeing against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will address topics including scientific measures to control the pandemic, health science, global innovative cooperation, and cutting-edge technologies.

The 2020 ZGC Forum will host a legacy lineup of top scientists, such as Nobel chemistry laureate Gregory Winter and Fields Medal winner Efim Zelmanov. Renowned entrepreneurs with multinational tech companies featuring Intel and AstraZeneca, and representatives with international organizations in the field will also be present.

Through some 50 sub-events, this year's forum will provide a platform for guests to discuss life and health, artificial intelligence (AI), innovation in ecosystems, and youth entrepreneurs.

So far, over 2,200 guests from 30 countries and regions around the world have confirmed their attendance.

In addition, a series of cutting-edge products will make their debut. Products include those related to epidemic prevention and control, 5G and integrated circuits, AI and smart hardware, biomedicines and high-end medical devices, and new energy and new materials.

An additional feature is that the ZGC Forum will host the 23rd China Beijing International High-tech Expo, which will present the world with core technologies and original innovation.

The forum will also release a list of top industrial innovators in four aspects. These include AI and smart manufacturing, biotechnology and comprehensive health, energy-saving and green innovation, and next-generation IT and smart transportation modes.
