The Luohu human resource bureau initiated a serial activity on Sept. 9 encouraging people to start their businesses.

Themed "crises and opportunities for starting businesses and employment under new policies," the activity will be livestreamed. Xie Jun, partner of Huaqian Fund, and Zhang Lihong, a consultant with the Shengtiancheng financial counseling company, were invited to share their thoughts on the topic.

The purpose of the activity is to help new business owners and jobseekers review how current crises can provide new opportunities against the backdrop of globalization, and guide them in finding solutions to their problems.

In his analysis of situation in light of the post-pandemic era, Xie Jun pointed out that business owners should be aware that "bitter days" may await them in the coming years. To prepare, he gave them three pieces of advice, regarding how to choose the right project, maintain sustainability, manage financing, and calculate a proper exit time. Xie added that while it is safe to choose projects involving cutting-edge technology and that satisfy people's basic needs. Additionally, business owners must face the prospect of acquisition rationally and fully understand the benefits presented by being purchased by big-name buyers.

Zhang Lihong analyzed Shenzhen's new pro-business and subsidy policies against the backdrop of the normalization of pandemic control, particularly in regards to how to apply for the four kinds of subsidies and one kind of loan that the city offers. Zhang claims that the "four subsidies and one loan" are the best opportunity Shenzhen has offered to start-ups as they can help many businesses weather the current storm.

The activity has so far attracted nearly 500 viewers. In the future the Luohu human resource bureau will also invite experts, scholars and entrepreneurs to give lectures on technology development trends, as well as how to start a business and how to make a good use of government pro-business policies.

The bureau also offers one-on-one consultation and tutoring services for individual entrepreneurs to help them solve practical problems. Services can be booked via the bureau's WeChat account "Luohu employment."
