The Cuibei Experimental Primary School at Yubei and the Cuiyuan Middle School at Dongxiao were opened recently. With 810 and 900 seats respectively, these schools can ensure that all local children access education near home.

It usually takes about two to three years to build a school of that scale, with a construction area of about 3,500 square meters. The construction of the two schools started in May and finished on Aug. 30.

New construction materials and methods were applied to these projects to shorten the construction period.

Premade structures used in the construction of the two schools include interior decoration, thermal insulation, and fireproof and waterproof layers.

In addition, the construction work's impact on the surrounding environment is comparatively small, as all building components are built in factories, and they are connected with bolts on site. So the installation process is comparatively clean and produces less noise and pollution.

The light steel structure system used in the projects is anti-seismic and saves 50% energy, 80% water and 90% construction waste, compared to the conventional construction method with structures built with cement, steel and bricks.

The natural ventilation design of the environmentally-friendly school buildings means that they are cool in summer and warm in winter.

These two schools are the latest examples of how Luohu is increasing the supply of quality education to meet people's needs.

Before completing these two schools, the Honggui Middle School's west campus and Liannan Primary School's north campus were also built in the same way.

Luohu will soon initiate the construction of another two schools near the Donghu distance bus station and in Qingshuihe, which is expected to be finished in the first half of next year.
