Beijing MTR Corporation Limited (BJMTR) recently introduced intelligent hydrogen peroxide atomization disinfection robots to help sterilize its train compartments.

The brightly colored square robots can now be seen automatically patrolling the carriages of Beijing Metro Line 4, with their round heads automatically spraying hydrogen peroxide disinfectant.

"The robots can carry out disinfection more thoroughly than humans," said Tang Jiming, deputy general manager of the BJMTR, responsible for the metro's operation. He explained that hydrogen peroxide is a colorless and transparent liquid that decomposes into water and oxygen, leaving no residue but having a better disinfecting ability. He added that these disinfection robots have passed numerous performative tests, proving that they provide better protection for passengers.

These disinfection robots are very intelligent. When disinfection is necessary, the operator only needs to set a cleaning range. Once it is turned on, the robot operates automatically or can be guided by operators using a remote-controlled smart device with a 20-meter range.

In response to the current epidemic, the BJMTR has strengthened its epidemic prevention measures to ensure the safe travel of passengers. At present, more than 10,000 BJMTR employees and contracted staff have completed the first round of COVID-19 vaccinations.
