The Medical Humanities Forum will be held in Tsinghua University on April 16 as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the university.

At this forum, the 2021 Medical Practitioners Survey Report: Return to Humanities and Defend Nobility will be released and the "Good Doctor Plan" will be launched.

The event follows the nation's call that China should create "an atmosphere in which medical workers are respected and public health issues are taken seriously" with the goal of fostering harmonious and healthy doctor-patient relationships.

Han Qide, an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and vice chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Peng Gang, vice president of Tsinghua University will attend the opening ceremony and each deliver speeches. Zhong Nanshan, a leading Chinese respiratory disease expert and winner of the Medal of the Republic, will send a letter of congratulations.

The 2021 Medical Practitioners Survey Report was composed based on surveys of more than 10,000 respondents from clinicians in 28 provincial-level regions in China between December 2020 to January 2021. The surveys were conducted by the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University and the Medical Humanities Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.

The "Good Doctor Plan" was organized to provide assistance to grassroots doctors and introduce various kinds of public welfare resources into society to help support the development of medical agencies and educational organizations. It consists of the "good doctor oral history," a written description of best healthcare practices based on interviews; a "model good doctor" short video production; and a "good doctors making visitations" project.

On the day of the opening ceremony, the full text of the 2021 Medical Practitioners Survey Report will be published for the public through the "Good Doctor Plan" official account on WeChat.
