The Medical Humanities Forum was held at Tsinghua University on April 16 as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the university.
On the sideline of the forum, the 2021 Medical Practitioners Survey Report: Return to Humanities and Defend Nobility was released, and the "Good Doctor Plan" was also launched.
Han Qide, an academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and vice chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Peng Gang, vice president of Tsinghua University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Zhong Nanshan, a leading Chinese respiratory disease expert and winner of the Medal of the Republic, sent a letter of congratulations.
The 2021 Medical Practitioners Survey Report was compiled based on information collected from more than 10,000 clinicians in 28 provincial-level regions across China between December 2020 and January 2021. The surveys were conducted by the School of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University and the Medical Humanities Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
The "Good Doctor Plan" is designed to assist grassroots doctors and introduce various public welfare resources into society to improve the development of medical agencies and educational organizations. It consists of the "good doctor oral history," a document outlining best practices in healthcare based on interviews; a "model good doctor" video production; and a "good doctors making visitations" project.
The full text of the 2021 Medical Practitioners Survey Report was published via the "Good Doctor Plan" official account on WeChat the same day as the opening ceremony.
