On Thursday, the fourth day of the "2021 Silk Road Rediscovery Tour of Beijing," more than 10 foreign influencers from countries such as Brazil, France, and Guatemala, visited Beijing's sub-center to get a taste of its high-quality development and toured its new landmark to learn more about the city's efforts to boost consumption.

As the north end of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal with a history of more than 2,500 years, Beijing's Tongzhou district has witnessed profound changes since its inception as a sub-center of the capital. 

At the wharf of Tongzhou's Canal Park, the foreign influencers boarded on a boat, listened to traditional Chinese Kun Opera, learned the traditional Chinese martial art of tai chi, and tasted traditional Beijing food and drinks. They also experienced the ecological environment of Tongzhou, including its lush trees and high buildings that skirt the two sides of the canal. 

During a visit to Zhangjiawan township, a high-tech zone that was transformed from a traditional industrial park, the influencers learned about the township's efforts to take the lead in promoting Beijing's construction of its pilot free trade zone as well as the national integrated demonstration zone, both headed to aid the expansion and opening-up of the service sector. 

At Beijing Fun on Beijing's Qianmen Street, one of Beijing's 10 landmarks for culture-related consumption, the foreign celebrities enjoyed themselves and reveled in the city's efforts to build itself into an international consumption center. Beijing Fun integrates multiple shopping and entertainment outlets, including bookstores, cinemas, restaurants, and art spaces. 

Following the tour, the foreign influencers were left with an impression of Beijing's modernization, profound culture, low-carbon technologies, and technological innovations.
