Tibetan opera helps boost rural vitalization

A Tibetan opera troupe performs in Maizhokunggar county, Lhasa, Tibet, on July 28. Originating in the eighth century, and inscribed by the UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage in 2009, Tibetan opera boasts a profound history and huge cultural value. According to Phuntsog Jorden, an instructor from a cooperative in Yangrigang village, Maizhokunggar county, troupes can earn an average of 6,000 to 7,000 yuan per performance and are in high demand.
