Beijing Fashion Week kicks off

Beijing Fashion Week raised its curtain on Wednesday in the city's Zhangjiawan Design Town and will last through Sept. 26.
The fashion event is in its sixth year since its launch in 2016. This year's fashion week features various activities at landmark sites in Beijing, such as Zhangjiawan Design Town, Shougang Park, Longfu Cultural Center, and mall-clustered Sanlitun and Wangfujing.
The event is aimed at demonstrating the latest development of the fashion industry in Beijing, and providing a platform for exchange and cooperation between the garment industry, cultural and creative enterprises, and digital technologies.
Zhangjiawan Design Town, located at the city's sub-center, was chosen to be the permanent site for the Beijing Fashion Week at the opening ceremony.
The 12-day event will include about 100 activities both online and at the site, such as fashion shows, exhibitions, forums, and competitions.
