All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) and the Beijing municipal government held a Mid-Autumn Festival reception for Beijing-based foreign journalists on Thursday.
The event was rich with a festive atmosphere amid decorations of lanterns, traditional Chinese music, and presentations of Beijing handicrafts.
Two inheritors of intangible cultural heritage attracted onlookers with their delicate handicrafts, Tuerye and velvet flowers. These special gifts signifying auspiciousness added more holiday spirit to the event.
ACJA extended a warm welcome to all foreign journalists and said they could further enhance mutual understanding between the Chinese people and people across the world through news reports.
An official of the information office of the Beijing municipality government introduced the long history and unique status of Beijing, and expressed their determination to offer an extraordinary Winter Olympic Games for the world.
Beijing-based foreign journalists, press officers of the foreign embassies in China, and representatives of Chinese media attended the event.
