In the first three quarters of 2021, Beijing's Chaoyang district added 137 "first stores," increasing the total number of such stores to 364 and making up 52% of Beijing's total.

"First store" are stores opened by a leading brand in a region for the first time, which usually indicates the region's openness and commercial vitality.

According to the Chaoyang District Commerce Bureau, in the first nine months of 2021, 137 first stores were established in Chaoyang district, more than the number of 116 in 2020.

At present, Sanlitun and CBD areas are home to about 30% of Beijing's first stores, with 119 and 88, respectively. For CBD, 35 are first stores of international brands.

The Zhengda Center commercial area and the western area of Sanlitun Tai Koo Li will open soon, which will also boost the "first-store economy" in the district.

During the first three quarters of this year, retail sales of consumer goods in Chaoyang district totaled 262.36 billion yuan, up 16.4% year on year. The total number and the growth rate both ranked the first in the city.
