The China Gold Association, Luohu district government and the Shanghai Futures Exchange co-hosted a ceremony to launch the national precious metal knowledge competition of gold investment analysts in the IBC Mall of Luohu, Nov. 18.

The event also served as the opening ceremony for the 2021 China Precious Metal Industry Conference.

During a forum on the sidelines of the ceremony, experts and scholars in the gold finance sector discussed the industry’s innovative developments, the construction of a gold science and technology platform and charting a feasible path for high-quality development of the precious metal industry at large.

The forum and knowledge competition took place online and offline. Many industry experts and scholars speculated on future development trends within the precious metal industry and how it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They also had discussions about collaborations between upstream and downstream industries within the greater precious metal industry, and the need for the gold finance industry to serve the real economy and how to optimize the industry’s business environment.

They also urged market players to enhance their ability to mitigate risk, and encouraged market watchdogs to strengthen regulations and oversight of the market.

The final round of the knowledge competition as well as the awards ceremony will be held at the international gold market annual summit during the 2021 Boao Forum for Entrepreneurs on Dec 3.

Meanwhile, during the China Precious Metal Industry Conference, various experts and officials delivered keynote speeches, and entrepreneurs spoke about new consumption trends underpinning the gold and jewelry market, which ultimately boiled down to upgrading, customization and re-circulation.

Luohu district is a regional center for the gold and jewelry industry in south China. Together with the Shenzhen government, the district has rolled out a series of policies to support the innovation of the gold finance industry, improve its business environment, and promote opening-up and cooperation across the sector so as to achieve the healthy development of the gold and jewelry industry, and better serve the development of the district’s real economy.
