A think tank network was established on Friday in south China's Hainan Province to advance the process of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

The RCEP Think Tank Network was initiated by the Hainan-based China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) and the East Asian Institute under the National University of Singapore.

The network has received support from 13 think tanks in nine RCEP member states, including China.

The intention of the network is to work with think tanks in the region to create "an open and shared academic cooperation network" and provide intellectual support for the advancement of the RCEP process, said Chi Fulin, head of the CIRD.
