A total of 66 intangible cultural heritage workshops have been selected as exemplary cases supporting rural revitalization in 2022, according to Chinese authorities.

The cases, jointly released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the National Rural Revitalization Administration, involve various types of intangible cultural heritage projects such as embroidery, carving, and food production from 44 counties lifted out of poverty and five key counties receiving assistance for rural revitalization.

Intangible cultural heritage programs have in recent years helped the country's rural revitalization in preserving and inheriting intangible cultural heritage, creating jobs, as well as consolidating achievements in poverty alleviation, an official with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said, noting that the country will strengthen the establishment of intangible cultural heritage workshops to pass on the fine traditional Chinese culture and promote rural revitalization.

Since 2021, more than 2,500 such workshops with distinctive local features and potential markets have been set up across the country, over 1,400 of which are in areas lifted out of poverty.
