China sees more high-quality seawater in nearshore areas

China has seen great improvement in seawater quality for six consecutive years, with 85% of the nearshore sea areas having good to excellent water quality in 2023, an increase of 13.7 percentage points from 2018, said Guo Fang, vice minister of ecology and environment, at a press conference Thursday.
