Shaolin Temple abbot attracts limelight

Shi Yongxin, the current abbot of the Shaolin Temple is surrounded by the press as he walks in to the Great Hall of the People to attend the annual National People's Congress (NPC) session on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Beijing, China. Shi Yongxin is the Chairman of the Henan Province Buddhists Association. Besides a delegate to the NPC, he is also one of the first Chinese monks ever to get a BA degree. [China.org.cn]
