Lianghui, or the two meetings, by far the most significant political event in China, was held from March 3 to March 17, 2013. The National People's Congress (NPC), China's legislature, and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a national advisory body of mostly non-Communist delegates, discussed and voted on major issues and legislation.
