BEIJING, July 28 (Xinhua) -- "Rock music, an element of the opening ceremony of 2012 London Olympics, can better show the creativity of English People to all the spectators in the world." English cultural expert Michael O'Sullivan told TV media on Saturday.

The opening ceremony of the 30th Olympics took place in London at 4:00 am on Saturday (Beijing Time).

"I believe young people in China tend to love English rock music, which in turn helps them love the Olympics." he said.

"The whole process of opening ceremony conveys a variety of information in different ways." he said, "For example, it may tell the world the long history of London and that Britain is a country full of creativity."

"It may also show the history of English sports as England is a cradle of many sports events." he added.

"Musical play may also take a certain proportion in the opening ceremony, because it is the way to attract more tourists to London every year." Enditem
