BEIJING, Sept. 7 (Xinhua) -- China's Foreign Ministry confirmed Friday that Premier Wen Jiabao will meet Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to discuss bilateral ties on the sidelines of the upcoming Summer Davos.

"I believe Premier Wen will discuss with the prime minister on further enhancing the China-Pakistan traditional friendship and the two countries' reciprocal cooperation," spokesman Hong Lei told a regular press briefing.

He said China and Pakistan are friendly neighbors and all-weather friends.

China is ready to work with Pakistan to promote their cooperation in all areas and help with Pakistan's social and economic development, Hong said.

The sixth Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos Forum, will open on Sept. 11 in the northern Chinese port city of Tianjin. Premier Wen will attend and address the opening ceremony. Enditem
