BEIJING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- The upcoming National Day holiday in China will offer moviegoers a wide choice of domestic films, with more than 20 movies scheduled to be screened during the week-long holiday starting next Sunday.

"The Assassins," starring actor Chow Yun-fat, and "Dangerous Liaisons" starring actress Ziyi Zhang, will join the fierce competition for the holiday season box office.

The former, which depicts the later life of warlord Cao Cao (155-220), will make its debut on Sept. 26, while the latter, which tells the story of a love triangle in Shanghai in the 1930s, will debut the next day, according to Mtime.com, a popular website for film enthusiasts.

The holiday season will also see the release of the China-U.S. co-production "Looper," an action film starring Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt that is set to debut in Hong Kong on Sept. 27. However, a date for the film's mainland debut could not be found on Mtime. Enditem
