Another bird hits Nepali plane

KATHMANDU, Oct. 1, (Xinhua) -- Right on the heels of Friday's aviation tragedy due to a bird-strike, another Nepali domestic plane made emergency landing after being hit by a bird at Pokhara Airport on Monday, local media reported.

According to the reports, a Kathmandu-bound Yeti Airlines 9NJ aircraft force landed minutes after its take off from Pokhara Airport at 3:39 p.m. local time.

However, the pilot managed to ground the plane safely escaping possible untoward casualties. It has been reported that all 26 passengers on board and three crew members were safe.

Officials at the airport commented that "a bird might have hit the plane as visible blood stains were discovered on the aircraft body."

The incident occurred just three days after a devastating crash of Sita Air-owned aircraft in Bhaktapur that had left all 19 aboard, including crew members, dead. Enditem
