The China Earthquake Administration (CEA)and the People's Liberation Army (PLA) have agreed to work together to help reduce losses after natural disasters.

The two sides signed a contract on Tuesday to improve the ability of military surveying and mapping navigation in China.

The contract, between the CEA and the bureau of surveying and mapping navigation under the PLA General Staff Headquarters, is in line with the country's plan of economic development and national defense construction.

The contract said both sides will share responsibility in the national research project, including disaster monitoring and rescuing. It will also further promote the research and application of satellite navigation and localization system.

Both sides will make efforts to reduce the loss caused by earthquakes, in order to protect people's lives and properties as well as promote the construction of national defense. Endi
