A new cold front is expected to sweep across north China and bring snow storms in northeastern provinces, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecast Sunday.

The cold front will bring heavy snowfall in Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces and chill most parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region with temperature dropping by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius.

The cold front will disperse the strong fog that shrouded Tianjin, middle and southern Hebei, southern Shanxi and Henan.

Meteorologic experts said traffic authorities should brace for the upcoming heavy snow and low temperature. They also advised the public to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities in the following days. Endite
