Stephon Marbury scored season-high 38 points as defending champions Beijing Ducks snapped Shandong Gold's five-match winning streak with a 105-98 victory in Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) League on Friday.

"The opponent is a tough team, but I always believe that we can beat them at last," said Marbury.

Ji Zhe had 24 points for the Ducks, which trailed by five points after the first quarter but bounced back in the second. After Ji made a 3-pointer, Beijing went 41-40 ahead.

It was Marbury's show in the second half. Every time Shandong came back into the game, the former NBA star stood up to hold on the advantage for the home team.

After Marbury's 3-pointer buzzer, Beijing built a 75-71 lead as the third quarter ran out. With 1:04 left to play, Beijing was leading by 102-95, a margin that the Shandong Gold was unable to erase.

Shandong's guard Jeter finished with 28 points, and Sun Jie contributed 20.

Yi Jianlian scored 41 points to led Guangdong Hongyuan to a 107-93 win over Dongguan Marco Polo for their fifth straight victory.

Yi was not the only star as Hudson had a game-high 51 points for Dongguan.

Tracy Mcgrady scored 10 points in Qingdao Doublestar's 84-114 defeat to Liaoning Hengye. The former NBA scoring champion has yet to win a game since he joined the Doublestar in October.
