Macao int'l airport records 25 pct passenger growth in February

Macao International Airport (MIA) handled 390,000 passengers in February 2013, up 25 percent year-on-year, according to figures released Friday by the airport.

MIA achieved the first peak season in 2013 due to the Chinese Spring Festival vacation. The average daily passenger volume in February was over 13,000. A new daily record of over 19,000 passengers was made on Feb. 15.

For the whole February, MIA also recorded 21 percent increase in aircraft movement over the same period last year.

Moreover, passengers of the Chinese mainland, Taiwan and East Asia routes increased 38 percent, 9 percent and 28 percent respectively year-on-year. Endi
