Lu Hao was appointed acting governor of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Monday.

The appointment was made at the second meeting of the Standing Committee of the 12th Heilongjiang Provincial People's Congress, the local legislative body.

The resignation of former governor Wang Xiankui was approved at the meeting.

Lu, born in June 1967, had served as first secretary of the Secretariat of the 16th Communist Youth League Central Committee since June 2008. He was transferred to Heilongjiang on March 20 as the deputy secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Wang Xiankui was appointed secretary of the CPC Heilongjiang Provincial Committee on March 20, replacing Ji Bingxuan. Endit
