A picture exhibition featuring China-Myanmar-India Theater during the World War II opened here on Friday.

The more than 300 photos on display are from the United States National Archives, according to the host of the exhibition, which will last until April 21.

He Yafei, deputy head of the China Overseas Exchange Association, and honorary chairman of Kuomintang (KMT) Wu Po-hsiung, as well as a number of veterans and the descendants of some late soldiers, including grandson of the late U.S. General Joseph Stilwell, attended the exhibition's opening ceremony.

He Yafei said the photos truly reverted the historical truth of 400,000 Chinese expeditionary soldiers fighting, hand in hand with allied forces, against Japanese invaders in the China-Myanmar-India Theater during the World War II.

He said the exhibition reveals that countries should draw lessons from the history and strive to safeguard world peace.

He also noted that China and the United States should further enhance mutual trust, expand cooperation, push for cultural exchanges and dialogue to cement the foundation for peace.

He and Wu Po-hsiung as well as other personages from both sides of the Taiwan Strait also called on people of both sides to cherish the history of the Chinese War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and promote patriotism during the course of the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Endi
