Spain striker Fernando Torres says he is unperturbed by being left out of coach Vicente del Bosque's preferred starting lineup.
The 29-year-old was an unused substitute in La Roja's 2-1 victory over Uruguay in their opening Confederations Cup Group B match on Sunday.
Despite suggestions Del Bosque will field an experimental side against Tahiti on Thursday, Torres admits he is unsure whether he will play at the Maracana stadium.
"I have to channel my frustration at not playing into working hard to improve my performance," the Chelsea forward said on Tuesday. "The competition for places in the team is very strong. We all think we are good enough to play but there is only room for 11 players."
Torres praised the performance of his teammates during their victory over the reigning Copa America champions, labelled by Brazilian daily Lancenet as a "football lesson".
"It was a spectacle that we all enjoyed," Torres said. "We played a fantastic match. We have a lot of players in good form and I just have to patiently wait for my opportunity to come." Endi
