The entire 26-strong crew of an empty Singaporean tanker that caught fire in the South China Sea on Wednesday afternoon has been saved, said the Hainan Maritime Bureau.

The tanker, named "Theresa Bitung," was on its way from east China's Zhoushan Islands to Singapore, when it's engine room caught fire at 12:40 p.m., as it was 80 sea miles west from the Nansha Yongshu Reef.

All crew members boarded life boats and were rescued by Grecian bulk cargo ship "Maiden Voyage" at 3:40 p.m.. Endi
