Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao held talks with visiting Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Beijing on Friday.

Li called for closer bilateral cooperation in such areas as energy, high technology, infrastructure building and anti-terrorism.

Hailing the progress of China-Saudi Arabia strategic relations, Li called on both countries to strengthen political trust, accelerate the FTA talks between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and enhance cooperation in building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

Salman, also deputy prime minister and defense minister of Saudi Arabia, said he has reached a broad consensus with Chinese leaders during his trip, which would push forward bilateral strategic cooperation in many areas.
