Mercedes-Benz will recall 66,692 vehicles in China because of defected tail lights, the country's quality supervisor said in a statement on Wednesday.

A poor electrical connection may result in the dimming or failure of the tail lights, which may increase the risk of accidents, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The recall impacts C-class vehicles from the 2007 through to the 2011 model years, according to the administration.

The automaker will replace the faulty components free of charge.

Meanwhile, BMW will recall 1,418 vehicles because of problems to door locks, while Jaguar Land Rover will recall 5,281 vehicles over engine flaws. Shanghai GM will recall 536 vehicles over software issues and Harley Davidson will recall 78 motorcycles due to problems with gas meters. Endi
