Youth education is the government 's priority, and the administration will provide more opportunities for youngsters to learn about the Mainland's development, Hong Kong Chief Executive C Y Leung said here Thursday.

Speaking at his Legislative Council question and answer session, Leung said the government will provide more extra-curricular activities to cultivate a positive attitude in young people, such as boosting subsidies for uniformed groups.

He said the government will organize exchange tours with Mainland for students to enhance their understanding of the nation.

As some youths lack upward mobility, Leung said the government will boost the economy to create more promotion and development opportunities.

The government will also ease housing problems for young people by boosting supply through rezoning urban plots and developing new towns, he added. Endi
