Four Chinese officials are being investigated for alleged involvement in bribery, according to a statement released on Thursday by the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP).
The investigated include Zhang Xuemin, a former member of the standing committee of Pingxiang City's Communist Party of China branch, and Lin Qiaoyin, former vice chairman of the Ji'an City committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Both cities are in east China's Jiangxi Province.
The other two are Guo Jianhua, former deputy mayor of the city of Anyang in central China's Henan Province, and Zheng Baiping, vice general manager of Valin Steel Co., Ltd., which is based in central China's Hunan Province.
While Guo is suspected of bribing others, the other three are accused of taking bribes, the statement said.
According to the SPP, investigations into the four have been approved by related provincial-level procuratorates and assigned to prosecutors at city level. Endi
