The Brooklyn Nets downed the Sacramento Kings 129-117 for the second consecutive time through overtime in Game 2 of the 2014 NBA China Games in Beijing on Wednesday.
The Nets had 6 players who had double-digit points while the Kings had 5. Both Ben McLemore and Mirza Teletovic had game-high 22 points for the Kings and Nets apiece.
The Nets heated up for the game quickly and built a 32-21 lead as the first 12 minutes ran out. Spanish Brook Lopez got 14 points for the Nets in this quarter.
In the second period, the Nets continued their good performance and extended to a double-digit gap after Andrei Kirilenko's free throw. But the Kings started to enhance the defense and fight back. Darren Collison hit consecutive 3-pointers to cut the deficit and help the Kings to overtake the lead at 57-48 before halftime.
The second half saw a tight contention and thanks to Omri Casspi's 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining, the Kings dragged the match into overtime.
The Nets ruled the last 5 minutes before nailing the match at 129-117 after Sergey Karasev's 3-pointer.
