China convenes int'l anti-hijack meeting

An international anti-hijack symposium ended in Beijing on Friday, after representatives from 23 countries' militaries discussed tactics against such terrorism.

During the five-day session, more than 100 participants from countries including China, Russia, France, Spain and Israel discussed the building, organization and command of anti-terror forces, control of core areas, spot investigation and tactics employing.

They also watched anti-hijack simulations of Chinese Armed Police's "Falcon Commando Unit" .

The forum was organized by the Chinese armed force authorities under increasingly severe terrorist threats to China and the world, according to a statement released after the forum.

China's top legislature will begin deliberating on a draft anti-terrorism law at a bimonthly session scheduled from Oct. 27 to Nov. 1. Endi
