China and Chile are willing to expand bilateral cooperation in agriculture, mining, finance and infrastructure construction, as well as humanities and science and technology.

The remarks were made by China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng and Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria during a meeting in Beijing Tuesday.

Chile has always been an example in developing relations with China, and the establishment of the China-Chile free trade area is an illustration, said Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

The next year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of China-Chile diplomatic relations, and China is willing to take this opportunity to deepen mutual political trust and expand cooperation in various areas, Yu said.

China is also willing to work together with Chile to upgrade the cooperation between China and the whole Latin-America and the levels of Asia-Pacific regional cooperation, Yu said.

The Chilean president sent congratulations to China for the fruitful results achieved by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting which just concluded.

Chile is willing to increase cooperation with China in a variety of fields and strengthen communication and coordination in international affairs, said Michelle Bachelet Jeria, who is in Beijing to attend the annual APEC meeting. Endi
