Chinese teacher detained for molesting 15 boys

A 32-year-old teacher has been detained by Chinese police for molesting 15 primary school boys, local authorities said Wednesday.
The teacher, Zhang, confessed to police that he had molested 15 boys in the past two years, according to a government statement.
Zhang taught Chinese language for grade four students at Lima Primary School in Guichao Township, Funing County of southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The principal of the school has been dismissed from his post by the county education bureau.
The 15 boys have received medical checkups and none of them have suffered physical injury.
Zhang coerced the boys into his dormitory before assaulting them, according to the statement.
Zhang is married and has a three-year-old child, according to media reports.
China has had a string of child molestation cases involving teachers in recent years.
In November, a 60-year-old teacher in central China's Hunan Province was detained by police for molesting 19 primary school girls.
In September, a 61-year-old primary school teacher was detained for the rape of several girls in central China's Hubei Province.
In April, a court in east China's Anhui Province sentenced a school teacher to death for the rape of five schoolgirls and sexual assault of six others.
The Supreme People's Procuratorate announced in May that a total of 8,069 people had been charged with child sexual assault from 2010 to 2013. Endit
