Director of Intellectual Property Ada Leung of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Director General of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property Miguel Angel Margain signed the MoU.

The MoU provides a framework to facilitate cooperation between China's Hong Kong and Mexico in the areas of IP, such as exchange of information, best practices and experience, training of personnel, promotion of IP trading and commercialization as well as joint organization of seminars and conferences.

Hong Kong's Permanent Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Philip Yung and Consul-General of Mexico in Hong Kong Alicia Buenrostro Massieu attended the signing ceremony.

"The MoU provides an excellent basis for developing the trans- Pacific bonds between Hong Kong and Mexico in the area of IP," Yung said.

"With strong support from the governments and industry and business sectors of both places, the collaboration would inspire more joint IP undertakings in the future," he said. Endi
