Senior CPC official meets Myanmar's ruling party chief

Communist Party of China (CPC) senior official Liu Yunshan on Monday met with U Shwe Mann, chairman of Myanmar's ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), to discuss cooperation between the two ruling parties.

Liu, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, underscored the importance the CPC placed on developing ties with the USDP and pledged to share more experience with the USDP on state governance and bring China-Myanmar comprehensive strategic partnership to a new high.

Liu briefed U Shwe Mann, also speaker of Myanmar's House of Representatives and Union Parliament, at the CPC building, stressing the CPC is based on the support of the public.

U Shwe Mann, on his first visit to China as USDP chief, said the USDP was committed to developing Myanmar-China friendly cooperation and pledged to draw on the CPC's experience.

After Beijing, he will visit the southwest province of Yunnan. Endi
