Active Chinese military units that originated from forces that fought the Japanese during World War II will march in next month's military parade marking the 70th anniversary of the end of the conflict.

The parade on Sept. 3 will involve 10 formations of units with roots in the Eighth Route Army, New Fourth Army, Northeast United Anti-Japanese Force and South China Guerrillas, said Qu Rui, deputy director of the Office of the Parade Leading Team, on Friday.

"These units' predecessors were outstanding representatives of the anti-Japanese forces on various battlefields," Qu said.

The active units' presence in the parade will honor the bravery of their predecessors and show that determination to safeguard national sovereignty and security has passed to later generations, he added. Endi
