An exhibition on the craftsmanship involved in the preservation and restoration of cultural relics opened on Friday at the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, in Beijing.

The exhibition showcases the repair of many different cultural treasures, including antique paintings and calligraphy, ceramics, clocks, and wood-ware.

Many restored items are on display, and there is a video featuring highlights of the repairing process.

The exhibition will last till Nov. 15. Tickets to the Palace Museum are also valid for the exhibition.

Antique restoration at the Forbidden City can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Today's Palace Museum has four professional teams responsible for restoration projects. Endi
