The numbers of crimes involving murder, rape, robbery or explosives in China have dropped for 11 consecutive years, the Ministry of Public Security said on Friday.

According to the ministry, 96.5 percent of the murder cases that occurred from January to November had been solved by the police.

At a televised meeting, vice minister of public security Li Wei vowed to harshly crack down on crimes to safeguard public security and social stability ahead of the upcoming holidays.

Li urged police departments at all levels to "resolutely destroy the threat terrorists," and fight illegal activities including telecom fraud and child-trafficking with heavier police presence on the streets. Endi
