Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao on Thursday reaffirmed China's commitment to lasting world peace and common security.

Li made the remarks when meeting with foreign representatives attending the second core group meeting of the Munich Security Conference(MSC), in Beijing.

Li said the current international situation is complicated, undergoing profound change and facing new global challenges.

China is ready to seek new ideas and new methods in a new type of international relations with win-win cooperation at its core, and jointly build a community of common destiny, he said.

Wolfgang Ischinger, chairman of the Munich Security Conference, commended China's role in maintaining international order and security.

He said the MSC is willing to enhance exchanges and cooperation with China in the name of peace.

Topics of the Core Group Meeting included regional security in the South Pacific, China's role in the global security order and the geopolitics of the Belt and Road initiative. Endi
