An art exhibition co-hosted by the national museums of China, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Japan kicked off in the National Museum of China Friday.

The six-week exhibition, the first ever collaboration of the three museums, features over 50 ancient Chinese, Korean and Japanese paintings from the l5th century to early 19th century.

"We are expecting more cooperation between the three museums, which will expand people's understanding of East Asian history and culture, and enhance cultural exchange between China, the ROK and Japan," said Lyu Zhangshen, head of the National Museum of China. Endi
