The traditional Drunken Dragon Festival was held in China's Macao Special Administrative Region Wednesday, featuring Chinese dragon performance, sacrifice offering and a carnival.

The festival was aimed at celebrating Buddha's birthday which falls on the eighth of April in the Chinese lunar calendar.

Two drunken dragon performers, usually males that have practiced martial arts, held the head and the tail of the "dragon" respectively. The other two performers held liquor jars and beat the drum.

This year they made the performance at the Red Market, a building which was built over 80 years ago, and its surrounding streets.

Performers from Japan, Singapore and Malaysia also participated in this year's festival. Endit
