RABAT, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Morocco and Tunisia vowed on Monday to further strengthen the bilateral ties, through implementing agreements on cooperation in various fields.

The two sides made the pledge at a meeting held between Morocco's Prime Minister Saadeddine El Othmani and Mehdi Ben Gharbia, the Tunisian minister of relations with the constitutional authorities, civil society and human rights, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office.

Both sides underscored the need to continue implementing agreements signed during the last meeting of the joint high-level commission of Morocco and Tunisia, it said.

The two countries signed 13 agreements of cooperation that cover the fields of agriculture, investment, civil aviation, vocational training, higher education and employment at the meeting held last June.

Othmani and Gharbia also discussed a number of economic and social challenges facing the region and means to address them, the statement said.

At the same time, they exchanged views on the latest developments in the Maghreb region and ways to consolidate coordination between the two countries at regional and international levels, it added. Enditem
