DOHA, April 23 (Xinhua) -- Qatari Foreign Ministry's Secretary-General Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi has informed the ambassadors in Qatar again with the latest updates of the Gulf crisis, Qatar news agency reported on Monday.

During the meetings, which are the second of its kind to be held since the embargo imposed on Qatar by the Arab quartet, Al Hammadi met separately with ambassadors of Africa and Asian countries.

The Qatari minister, however, met with the ambassadors of European countries on April 18.

Qatar did not send a senior representative to the Arab League summit in Dhahran in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

But later, Qatar announced its participation in the "Joint Gulf Shield 1" Drill, which took place in Saudi Arabia from March 21 until April 16.

Since the crisis erupted, Qatar has strengthened the bilateral relations with the other countries, to overcome the sanctions enforced by neighboring Arab states.

On June 5, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt cut diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing Doha of backing extremism. Doha denied the accusations. Enditem
